Volunteer Opportunities

Kosher Nutrition Program
Make new friends as you help serve kosher lunch to our community members. Lunch is served twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays between 12 noon and 1:00 p.m. Special holiday lunches are always well attended and include entertainment. Duties include: setup, and serving. Sign up for one day a week, or as often as you like. Your help is needed. Please call Shoshana Eliahu at (925) 938-7800 ext 239 for additional information or to setup an appointment to visit the program.

S.O.S. Desk (Senior Office Support)
Meet and greet new members in the community, provide them with information about the programs and activities at the Center, take reservations for the various programs offered, answer questions over the phone, and help the Program Director in various administrative tasks. The S.O.S. Desk is the "nerve Center" of the Senior Adult Department. It is a challenging and demanding post. Please call the Center at (925) 938-7800 ext 244 and leave a message for Roddy Greenblatt, the Volunteer coordinator to schedule an appointment.

Senior Bulletin Mailing
Every month a Senior Bulletin is mailed to over 1,000 homes in the Bay Area.  To prepare the bulletins for mailing we recruit a dedicated crew of volunteers.  Our volunteers meet to fold and apply mailing labels while enjoying the opportunity to chat and nosh on refreshments.  We need many hands to process the bulk mailing every month.  If you have a few hours to lend a hand, contact Shoshana Eliahu at (925) 938-7800 x239 for details.

For more information about the above programs, registration, or general questions about Senior Adult Programs, please contact Shoshana Eliahu – Adult and Senior Programs & Services Director at (925) 938-7800 x239 or shoshanae@ccjcc.org.

Millman Adult Day Program

The Millman Adult Day Program provides a unique and rewarding opportunity for individuals interested in improving the quality of life for elders experiencing the challenges of living with memory impairment. Enthusiasm, compassion and a positive attitude are required. Volunteers serve the program on average 1-4 times per month.

If you would like to volunteer, or are interested in other volunteer opportunities, please print and mail or fax this Volunteer Form to the JCC at 2071 Tice Valley Boulvevard, Walnut Creek, CA  94595 or (925)937-0765.
